| | In the name of God,
amen, I Harrison Cockrill from the town of Santa Rosa, and State of California,
being of sound and disposing and memory, and considering the uncertainty of
this frail and transitory life do therefore make, ordain, publish, and declare
this to be my last will and testimony: That is to say. First after all my lawful debts are paid and
discharged, which is my will to be paid out of the funds, notes and evidences
of debts which I hold without recourse to any other property either Real or
personal. I give and bequeath all my property both real and personal to my
wife, Ruhama Cockrill, during the time of her natural life and she remains my
window, and that at her death or marriage, to be equally divided among my
children likewise. I make constituent and appoint my said wife Ruhama to be the
			 Executrix without bond.
 In witness whereof I
hereto subscribe my name and affix my seal this the twenty third day of January
			 A.D. 1857.

 This
will was witnessed in Santa Rosa, on January 23, 1857 by an A.?B.
			 Ingram and J. C. Cockrill.
 There was
a John Ingram family in the 1860 Census for Sonoma County who appears to
have come from Missouri before 1845. There is no listing for a J. C. Cockrill
in the 1860 Census for Sonoma County, however, there was a James Carol
Cockrill, son of William B. and Lavinia Cockrill, who was born in about 1835 in
Allen Co., KY and died in Santa Rosa in 1864.
