  10/7/1746 Mary Ann Venable brought a breach of peace suit against Charles Cannaday (Kennedy); the same being agreed, the suite was dismissed  
  1747 Joseph Venable mortgaged household goods to John Minor  
  3/7/1749 Joseph Venable was sued by Benj. Arnold but suit was dismissed  
  10/28/1754 Joseph Venable, David Davenport, and John Goodloe witnessed John Minor's will.  
  4/7/1758 Joseph Venable indentured household goods to James Townsend of Orange County, VA for 17 pounds to be paid back by Feb. 20, 1760.  
  4/1762 Joseph Venable owed 20 pounds and costs to John Spotswood and others. Not executed.  
  2/6/1763 Joseph Venable witnessed a deed between John Trusty and John Chiles. Other witnesses were Henry Chiles, Thomas Wiatt, and Thomas White.  
  7/1763 Joseph Venable witnessed a deed from Daniel Musick to John Chiles.  
  7/30/1763 Joseph Venable witnessed a deed from John Chiles to Daniel and Elizabeth Musick. Other witness was Richard Crittenden Webb.  
  11/1763 Joseph Venable witnessed a deed from James Townsend of Orange County, VA to John Shephard. Other witness was James Sandridge.  
  1772 Joseph and Lucy Venable sold 100 acres to John Davis.  
  4/10/1764 Joseph Venable owed 2.2.7 pounds and costs to Andrew Johnston.  
  5/1764 Joseph Venable and Thomas Wiatt, his security. Venable owed 14.18.7 pounds and costs to Thomas Moore, Gent.  
  3/1766 Joseph Venable witnessed a deed from John and Martha Davis to Ambrose Shackleford of 100 acres that Venable had sold to John Davis.  
  1772 Joseph Venable discharged his debt to Thomas Moore.  
  1772 Joseph and Lucy Venable sold 100 acres to Clayton Coleman.  
  4/1776 Joseph Venable was paid 1200 pounds of tobacco by St. George's Parish for maintaining Katherine Venable.
