Dear
Friends of Spring Hill Cemetery,
Yesterday was another lovely day at Spring Hill. As is usual in summer, the cemetery was very dry, and the paths littered with leaves. We had a smaller group on Friday, just 3 volunteers and 4 members of the Sonoma County youth core, but were still able to leave the cemetery in great shape.
We have been fortunate enough to have the Sonoma County youth group join us these past few workdays. Their help has been invaluable, providing much needed weed whacking, and brute strength! Due to more regular weed whacking, the weeds in the southern part of the cemetery have been much better controlled. I am hoping that once the winter rains start up again, clearer access to the floor of the cemetery will enable us to more efficiently search this area for missing stones.
Please pencil in November 14th as our next workday. I have yet to clear this date with Regional Parks, so will be sending another email regarding the date once I've interacted with Parks. Hoping to see more of you at our next clean up, as the fall workday is usually a very busy one for us, with clearing the fallen leaves and preparing the cemetery for winter.
Best Regards,
Sue
