Ricard Fulkerson's handwritten will exists in the Santa Rosa Genealogical Library, along with a few of the original probate forms. Richard Fulkerson's will is dated May 6, 1882, a copy of it in a different handwriting exists in the microfilmed probate record which is in the County Clerks office.

Richard Fulkerson declared Jacob Harris, his son-in-law (wife of Phoebe F. Fulkerson) executor for fifty dollars. If he could not do it, then it would be John Fulkerson, then Stephen T. Fulkerson, Ruth Barnes, Phoebe Harris or Mary Henderson. He gave detailed instruction on how his bank stock and personal property should be divided among his children and grandchildren. The will was witnessed by T. S. Fulkerson, T. M. Harris (Jacob's son), and Wm. E. McConnell.

Dispersal of the estate was to be made as follows:

To my oldest daughter, Mrs. Ruth Barnes, I give Forty shares of my Santa Rosa Bank stock and my ivory and gold mounted walking cane.

To my daughter, Phoebe Harris, I give 40 shares of my Santa Rosa Bank stock.

To my daughter, Mary Henderson, I give 40 shares of my Santa Rosa Bank stock.

There was a codicil to the will written July 30, 1887 after the death of his oldest daughter, Ruth Barnes. It leaves his walking stick to her son Richard O. Barnes, and at the time of his death, it should go to the oldest of Richard Fulkerson's living male heirs. The Witnesses to this codicil are L. W. Burris and O. H. Hoag, both residents of Santa Rosa.

Additionally it states:

I hereby give, bequeath and devise the water spring from which water is now conducted to my residence together with the plot of ground owned by me from which the same rises and the pipes and rights of way for the same, all to my grandson Richard O. Barnes. The 40 shares of Santa Rosa Bank stock that was intended for Mrs. Ruth Barnes -- one third to my granddaughter Amanda Moore, and another third share to my granddaughter Mrs. Mary Murdock and the remaining third to the children of Muriah Hawkins deceased -- to Maud Hawkins, Maimie Hawkins and Mark Hawkins to share and share alike.
