A short history of Odd Fellows Cemetery can be found in Cemetery Records of Woodruff County, Arkansas, by Adelia C. Kittrell and Curtis A. Houston, Vol II (reprinted by The Woodruff Country Historical Society, 1992), p. 233:
This cemetery was begun about the time of the Civil War, 1865 or before. It is believed that the Crossett family may have been the source of obtaining the land to begin this cemetery. It was laid out in family lots and sold to the family in need of burial ground. In 1950 additional land was layed out for families to purchase from Joseph H. Crossett, Jr., and there probably was been other additions as the need arose. The Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home handles the sale and the funds are given to the Crossetts.
There are several large cedar trees, one large magnolia and one large cucumber tree (common name) as well as other trees in the original part. There are a number of large oak trees on the south end. The cucumber tree mentioned above is almost as large as the largest known cucumber tree in the state; it is an evergreen tree as well as the magnolia. In fact the cucumber tree measures 38 1/2 inches in diameter and from what several people say that knew the tree for a long time, it is believed to be a good deal over 100 years old.
The location of the cemetery is about 2 and one-half miles south of McCrory, Ark...
