...Aunt Nans Uncle by marriage Col. Hagen married Lucinda Cockrill S? Daughter (Ma's father sister). They were 5?5 years old. Had a son & Rebecca C who came first with Col. Hagans settled between Petaluminia & S. Rosa foot Hills. He then returned east for the train and later moved to Ukiah. They brought one thousand head of cattle across. They traveled by day <?> wagons they did not always circled at night, a few times the Indians came in cample. Only they took Uncle Wm. (road him away) Hagins pinto stallion and cow, but no body dared to say a word. Another time they followed & then tried to take a couple of the girls (Aunt Adline & Cousin Helene Cockrll). There were about 30 wagons in all, drawn by 4 to 6 oxens. They came to So Platt river which was up and they put logs on the sides of wagons to float wagons there was a Ferry but they wanted to much money to cross. They meet with sever weather at So Platt river and circled the wagons and built fires inside. They took the northern Pioneer Route which ended at Sacramento They milked the dows in morning and put it in the churns in back of wagon and by night were they camped it was churned into butter. One oxen died and they put in a milk cow. Killed antalope and buffalo for meat. Paraie Fires were set but no back fire, as they wanted no harm done.
They camped at the notied Chimble Rock over night. It was a land mark to direct travelers who didn't know where they were.
Harrison & Ruhama settled in Santa Rosa and he was Depty Sheirff of that County. (Ma's father & mother).
Rebecca Cockrill was a daughter of Col. Joseph Venable, of the Revolution War. Anderson & wife were born in Carolina. Venable owned a plantation there & was Welsh & English descent, Venable was a Welsh prince and was a Royal family in England

Ma's Grate Grand father was from the royal family of England. Either Mrs. Theodore Cockrill or Mrs. Bob Cockrill may know of papers telling more about the royal family. The Mrs Cockrills were in S. F. the last we knew.
