Levi Hagans buys 251 acres for $400 from Joseph Crow 10 Aug 1836

This indenture made and entered into this 10th day of August in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty six between Joseph Crow and wife of one, and Levi Hagans of the other part, both of the county of Allen and state of Kentucky witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to me the said Joseph Crow in hand paid by the said Levi Hagins the receipt whereof is hereby fully acknowledged and our selves fully satisfied and contented, have granted, bargained, sold, conveyed & confirmed, and by these presents do sell, bargain, grant, enfeof, [sic] confirm and deliver unto the said Levi Hagans his heirs & assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county and state aforesaid on the waters of Bays fork of Baron River Bounded & Butted as follows (viz)
Beginning at a black and chestnut with a conditional line with Landon Key North 56 degrees west 220 poles to an elm & white oak thence No 45 degrees E 90 poles to a poplar & two dogwoods thence South 30 ? E. 90 poles to two read oaks & 1 white oak thence 65 degrees E 220 poles to a poplar & hickory in the head of a drain thence South 70 degrees W. 170 poles to the beginning containing by computation two hundred acres the same being more or less also one other tract joining the above survey bounded as follows (viz)
beginning at a double chestnut in the western boundary line of the foregoing survey thence south 56 degrees E with the old line to a chestnut and black oak on the old corner South 40 poles to a maple and dogwood on the old line North 66 degrees West 182 poles to a black gum thence North 16 degrees West 42 poles to a poplar No 282 East 40 poles to the beginning containing by computation fifty one acres, in all two hundred and fifty one acres, the same being more or less, to have and to hold the above named parcels or tracts of land with all and singular the rights titles emoluments hereditaments and appurtanences [sic] thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to his the said Levi Hagans own propper [sic] use benefeit [sic] and behoof forever and I the said Joseph Crow with my wife Nancy N. Crow will hereby warrant and forever defend from the law claim or claims of our selves our heirs and assigns and from all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof from our selves our heirs etc to the said Levi Hagans and assigns in fee simple forever in testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed this day and date first above written.
