[Abraham Roads] (maternal) grandmother was of another pioneer family in the Valley, Barbara Miller, and his (maternal) grandfather was Abraham Brubaker, another pioneer family.

Abraham came to Virginia, located in Massanutten, m. Barbara Miller, daughter of Jacob Miller, founder of Muellerstadt (Woodstock now), and by this marriage came into possession of much of the landed estate of his father-in-law.
