Notes:

There was a C. F. McGlashan who was the author of one of the first (1880) books about the Donner Party, History of the Donner Party: A Tragedy of the Sierra. This McGlashan was born in Janesville, Wisconsin in 1847 and appears to be not related to Andrew.

Andrew's parents appear to be living in dwelling # 240, next door to Henry Beaver's family in the 1870 Census record for Montery Co., Alizal Township (Post Office Salinas).

From Ross Williams:
Andrew, and supposedly his brothers as well, came to CA by ship and over the Isthmus of Panama in 1864. He was a native of New York state. He was a farmer. There is mention of him in the publication, History of Kings County. Family information from 1880 Census Lemoore Township, 1900 Census Kings Co. 266B sheet 18 5/34, 11 June 1900 Lemoore Township, lines 51-65. Also knowledge of John Andrew McGlashan.
