Notes:

From biography of her son, H. K. Adams, in Biographical and Historical Memoirs of Eastern Arkansas (Chicago: Goodspeed Publishers, 1890): "... died in 1854. She was a sister of Ex-Gov. Reid, of North Carolina, and her mother was a lady of national fame, who had near relatives on the supreme bench of Florida."

According to Diana Bradley, Francis Reid, had a brother, Hugh Reid, who was the grandfather of Governor David Settle Reid of North Carolina. From Early Families of the North Carolina Counties of Rockingham and Stokes with Revolutionary Service, Volume 2 (National Society Daughters of the American Revolution of Madison, North Carolina, James Hunter Chapter, Southern Historical Press, Inc.: 1990):
HUGH REID (Reed, Read) -- Born 20 May 1743 Chester Co., PA, Died 8 Sept 1822 Rockingham CO., NC; married 13 Mar 1770 Maryland, Jemina Carmen, born 2 July 1742, died 4 Sept 1822 Rockingham Co., NC.
As a resident of Guilford Co. NC, Hugh Reid was a patriot of the American Revolution. In the Revolutionary Army Accounts at the NC Archives, he is No. 7 on a list with this heading: "An Account of Clothing, Currency, and Species Certification sent ot the Commissary at New York by the Comptroller of Public Accounts of the State of North Carolina -- May 1790" in Vol. V, page 32, folio 3 (the payment was for only a small amount which seems to have been the interest on a larger amount, references of which was not found.)
During the latter part of the Revolutionary War, Hugh Reid of Baltimore County, Maryland moved with his family and purchased 550 acres of landon Hogans Creek in the northern part of Guilford Co., NC, the area that became Rockingham County in 1785. Here the family acquired other land and were members of the Lickfork Church.
