Letter from Cora Warner to Henry and Pearl Holland

 

Napa California
Feb 15, 1954

Dear Brother and Pearl:
got your letter so glad to hear from you I have thought of you all through the years but did not know where to write sorry Henry is not well I have High Blood Pressure for the Past years and Harding of the arteries so bad that I cant use my hands very good or my feet to walk very far at time I make quilt for all the children I live in nice cabin by my self I do my own cooking and bother no one much. All of Wileys children are married he has 4 grands and his youngest girl is looking for a baby in June that will be 5 grands for him 5 great grands for me and 5 grands so you see they keep me busy with my quilt making but they are all Darlings and I love them a lot. Milton and his wife have two children and are looking for another in June. I have not seen his wife she writes often and sends lots of nice things to me Milton lets his wife do all the writing.
Say Henry why cant you and Pearl come out to California some to see me you would like it. I know its Pretty here all year round thought this winter has been a bad one they say the worst in 50 years but the flowers bloomed all winter the snow comes some times but is not bad Napa is in a valley and we can see lots of snow on the mountains I am making out fine I get a railroad Pension enough to keep me and I have a nice bit in the Bank I do not know many People here but the ones I don know are nice to me I never go any place only to little grocery store to cash my check and to buy my eats Write to me often and come see us some time it will do you good Sam sent the McCrory Paper to me it was nice of him but I did not see many names that I knew both of you take care of you selves and write agin love to you and all your children will close for this time (you can see by my writing I cant use my Hand very good)
