Was nearly 24 when she was married. There is a story that she was engaged to be married to someone else, but he died suddenly. It appears she had been living in Fakes during the time of her marriage according to her Marriage License. This is assumed to be a small community north of McCrory known as Fakes Chapel.

Woodruff Co. Marriages, Bk. I, Pg. 336

Was living in Harrison, Arkansas at the time of her mother's death (1937), and came to California after her husband died. Had five children: her first was a girl who died at birth. An accomplished quilt maker, story teller and original owner of most of my family's pre-California family pictures. I spent many days of my early childhood in her company. Also, see letter to her brother.
