Notes:

From Gary Rodgers, an Adams/Trosper family source:
From "History of Sonoma County" by Tom Gregory, 1911 pp. 941:
William King born 1855, Ontario, Canada married Lora Z. Adams b. 1862, Ontario, Canada. They had a daughter Edith (born Ontario) and she was their only child.
In 1876 the KINGS crossed the plains with the Adams family and both families settled on homesteads taken along Austin Creek in Sonoma county.

[Also from Gary:] The King ranch was located about 2 Miles north of the Trosper house on what is now known as King Ridge Road (named after William King). This is where Doc Cockrill spent much of his hunting time with his sons. (who ran his Dodge off the Road). Seems Doc spent a lot of time with family in Cazadero...
William King was also Sonoma County's 5th District Supervisor. I have his business card pinned on a wall in our blacksmith Shop. We can see the Adams ranch on the slopes above Austin Creek directly across the canyon from our front yard. It is now owned by Bob Schneider Sr. The Kings, Trospers and Adams owned most of the land in this area in their day. There is still a Trosper here. Sheryl Trosper Parmeter. From the Arthur L. Trosper line She works on the staff at Montgomery School. King is also the genealogy link to our Rodgers' family.
