Abraham Roads and the son of John Roads II and Catharine Brubaker Roads and the great-grandson of the pioneer Rev. John Roads I of the Valley. He was born and raised on the plantation where his grandfather Roads seetled and established his home about 1729, and where he was massacred in 1764. Abraham's grandmother (paternal) was Mary Srickler, daughter of Pioneer Abraham Strickler. His (maternal) grandmother was of another pioneer family in the Valley, Barbara Miller, and his (maternal) grandfather was Abraham Brubaker, another pioneer family.
