  p. 17. April 1827: On the motion of WILL T. HENDERSON ordered that letters of administration be granted him in the estate of his deceased wife, REBECCA L. HENDERSON upon his entering into bond in the penalty of $1000 with WALTER THOMAS and JAMES VENABLE his security whereupon they entered into and executed bond as required by law and sd. HENDERSON was sworn into office.  
  p. 25. October 15th 1827: ZEPH PINSON is appointed a constable in the first district in the place of CHARLES C. STARK resigned upon his entering into bond in the penalty of $2000 with THO SUTTON, ELISHA WARDEN, GEO. W. MANSFIELD and GEO. D. READ, JAS VENABLE his security and thereupon they entered into and executed bond according to law and said PINSON was sworn into office.  
  p. 26. Monday October 17th 1827: [Present RICHARD WILMOTT.] JAMES VENABLE this day appeared in Court and renewed his bond as constable with THOMAS SUTTON, ANDERSON COCKRILL and MOSES NEALE his security according to law.  
  p. 35. April Term 1828 June 1828: On the application of EDWARD PORTER licence is granted him to keep a tavern in the town of Scottville upon his entering into bond with JAMES VENIBLE his security conditioned as the law directs whereupon said PORTER and VENIBLE entered into and executed Bond as required above according to law. P80.  
  p. 82. July Term 1830: [Present WILLIAM FITZPATRICK, JOHN WHITNEY and LEM SWEARENGEN.] Ordered that FREDERICK A. CARPENTER, THOMAS SUTTON, LARKIN D. COCKRILL and JAMES VENABLE or any three be appointed commissioners to settle with JAMES & SUSAN TRAVIS administrators of JOHN TRAVIS Decd. and report to the court.  

 

James Venable also appears owning property on Bays Fork in the early Kentucky tax records for both Warren and Allen counties.
