Helen Maria Scott Cockrill was a member of the 1853 Hagans-Cockrill Wagon Train.

 

"...now Mrs. Lake, of Bloomfield." from the History of Sonoma County (1880).

 

Enumerated (see complete listing in her husband's entry) as Hellen Lake (a. 34, bp. MO) in the 1870 Census for Cuffys Grave, Big River Township, Mendocino Co., CA (postoffice: Navarra). It appears that they had no children living with them at that time.

 

In "Bloomfield Cemetery Records, 1864-1967" copied by Susan Appleton (Santa Rosa Annex 929.379418 Bloomfield), there is a listing for two infant deaths for daughters of "W.D. and H.M. Lake": Eva J., July 16, 1876, age, 5 yrs, 5 mos. 24ds. and Mowday, Aug. 28, 1868, age 1 yr. 10 mos. 11 ds.

Neither Helen nor her husband show up being buried in Bloomfield.
