Her last name, as others on this line, is often listed as Stauffer. She is not listed in the documents which I found in the Luray Library which are the basis of the Stover genealogy which I have used here. Her name and vital records about her were found in The Descendants of Jacob Kauffman I (a document file from The Brehm/LaPella Family Tree Website) and the People & Places website page for Barbara Stover. There are other websites (FamilyHart Pennsylvania Dutch Genealogy Family Pages and Database and My Kentucky Roots) which have a completely different (and extensive) genealogies for a Barbara Stauffer, the wife of Martin Kaufman, listing her as the child of Daniel Stauffer and Magdalena Krehbiel, both from Germany. Obviously there is some supporting documentation which I have not come across yet that would detail which genealogy is correct. |
