Notes:

Surname also listed as Coffman.

From the History and Genealogy of the Bieber, Beaver, Biever, Beeber Family, by the Reverend Irvin M. Beaver (Reading, Pennsylvania; 1939), page 527:

Wayland's Shenandoah Valley History gives the following record: "Abraham Beaver m. Feb. 25, 1784, to Barbara Kauffman, the granddaughter of Martin Kauffman, who had pioneered from Lancaster Co., Pa., into Shenandoah Co., Va., about 1729, where he became a large land owner and an outstanding figure in the settlement of the valley. Her father, also Martin, was a Mennonite minister and her mother was Mary Taylor [?]. She was born and raised on the homestead established by her grandfather, Martin Kauffman."

I. M. Beaver calls the Primitive Baptist church which Barbara belonged to an "Old Dutch Church."

Barbara is listed as Barbary Beaver in a membership list drawn up in 1809 for the Pleasant Run Church in Fairfield County, Ohio (from the Complete History of Fairfield County, Ohio, by Hervey Scott (Columbus, Ohio: Siebert and Lilley, 1877), pp. 129-131). This was a Primitive Baptist Church founded by Martin Coffman and Samuel Comer who had left the Mill Creek Church in Hamburg, VA around 1805
